BIC increases stationery sales

Stationery sales at BIC during H1 increased by 4.9% with second quarter sales up 9.8%.

In Europe, net Sales grew mid-single digit thanks to a good Back-to-School sell in both Western and Eastern Europe. Strong initial sell-in for new products,

most notably the BIC® Gelocity Illusion erasable gel pen, the BIC® Intensity Writing Felt pen and the BIC® 4-color 3+1 pen.

In North America, net sales grew low-single digit. In a slightly declining market, we reinforced our leadership in Ball Pens, Mechanical Pencils and Correction

Products . It also benefited from the success of new products: BIC® Gelocity Quick Dry and BIC® Velocity Max Mechanical Pencil.

In Developing Markets, H1 2017 Net Sales grew low-single-digit with a strong second quarter and in Latin America, sales grew low single digit.
