Ricoh to reduce global workforce
| 16 March, 2018
Ricoh is looking to reduce its workforce by 4,000 in the new financial year with Japan and Europe seeing the largest reductions, according to press reports.
According to Nikkei Asia Review, Ricoh plans to lay off 3,000 employees in Japan by March 2019, including selling off a domestic logistics unit. The company will also reduce a number of management positions in Europe.
Nikkei Asia Review adds that Ricoh’s revenue has declined due to the move towards digital solutions in the office and the resulting decline in paper use.
