BIC's stationery sales up 4%

Sales of stationery at BIC were up 4% for the first quarter, boosted by a strong performance in Europe and the consolidation of India’s Cello Pens.
Net Sales for stationery increased high-single digit with growth in most countries, particularly in France, UK, Germany, Spain and Turkey, driven by a good performance in both the Office Product Channel and Retail Mass Market. In North America sales were stable and in Developing Markets net sales increased low-single digit on a comparative basis.
Sales for Cello Pens during Q1 2014 were 21.3 million euros.
