Steelcase reports that Americas' orders grew 2 percent and EMEA orders grew about 10 percent in its second quarter, compared to last year.
The office furniture maker saw revenues up 3.8 percent to $786.7 with the North American market particularly profitable where where project business remains strong as businesses continue to shift from office cubicles to open collaborative work spaces.
"We were very pleased with the rebound in Americas' performance compared to the prior quarter," Steelcase Chief Executive Jim Keane said in a statement. "This strong performance in the Americas, driven again by strong project business, helped to offset the losses in EMEA, where our teams continue to implement the required business model changes in Europe."
